Transfers

Processes for transfers are explained in the B.U. Undergraduate Program Regulations. The processes for transfers to SAD are summarized below:

  1. Registrar’s Office announces the yearly transfer quota and criteria required by the departments. The transfer application requirements can be found on the B.U. Web page. Prospective students may access the application requirements from the B.U. website and apply to the Registrar’s Office.
  2. Applications can be made to the Registrar's Office on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar.
  3. Approval or refusal decisions given by the SAD Departments are forwarded to the Dean’s Office of SAD. Decisions that are approved by the SAD Executive Committee are delivered to the Registrar’s Office. The lists of the accepted students and the waiting list are announced on the board of the SAD Management.
  4. Students who are accepted for an undergraduate transfer from other universities (“external transfer”) should apply to the Registrar’s Office with the required documents on the dates stated in B.U. Academic Calendar in order to make their pre-registration. If they do not apply between these dates, they will lose their right to enroll. After their enrollment with the Registrar’s Office students should determine the courses he/she should take after consulting with his/her Departmental Advisor; and proceed with the online registration accordingly.
  5. Registration dates for the students that are on the waiting list for an undergraduate transfer from other universities are announced by SAD Student Affairs and students are informed personally. The next day after this announcement is made; the waiting students should take an acceptance document from the SAD Management Student Affairs and apply with this document to the Registrar’s Office. After their enrollment with the Registrar’s Office students should determine the courses he/she should take after consulting with his/her Departmental Advisor; and proceed with the online registration accordingly.
  6. Students who are applying for an undergraduate transfer within the university (“internal transfer”) should withdraw their enrollment from their own departments and deliver this form to the Registrar’s Office. Applications can be made to the Registrar's Office on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar (online registration period). Students who do not register in this period will lose their right to enroll. After their enrollment with the Registrar’s Office students should determine the courses he/she should take after consulting with his/her Departmental Advisor; and proceed with the online registration accordingly.
  7. Registration dates for students on the waiting list that are applying for an undergraduate transfer within the university are announced by SAD Student Affairs and students are informed personally on the day after the online registration period is over. Students on the waiting list have only one day to register and if they do not register on that day, they will lose their right to enroll. The next day after this announcement is made; students should take an acceptance document from the SAD Management Student Affairs and apply with this document to the Registrar’s Office. After their enrollment with the Registrar’s Office students should determine the courses he/she should take after consulting with his/her Departmental Advisor; and proceed with the online registration accordingly.
